The Shrinking Credit Trap: My Recurring Nightmare with GlassesUSA 😡


I need to share my terrible online shopping experience to warn others. I thought I was being a responsible parent by buying glasses with an added warranty for my child from GlassesUSA, but it turned into a recurring nightmare. Every time we needed a replacement, it was the same frustrating story. Honestly, this place is the worst. I've ordered glasses with added warranty and needed a replacement due to the frame breaking and each time I've needed a lens replacement they tell me my choice of frame is out of stock and will therefore be receiving a store credit plus a small % which doesn't make sense. Then how do I end up with a cheaper and lighter pair than the previous? My original order value keeps decreasing, and I'm tired of dealing with this crap. I had to contact customer service to understand why I was being systematically ripped off.

Customer: I'm trying to use my warranty for a broken frame, and once again, you're telling me it's out of stock and offering me a store credit that's worth less than my last one. I paid a $30 deductible for a replacement, not to lose money.

CS Rep: I'm very sorry to hear about the issue with your replacement. I can certainly understand your frustration. Let me look into your account. I see the credit was issued based on the frame's value after discounts were applied.

Customer: That's the problem. My order started at $189 and is now valued at around $130. You're forcing me into a cheaper pair each time. This is a total joke and feels like robbery. You haven't gotten a single order right.
